Fairfield Inn by Marriott Charlotte Northlake

This is by far the worst hotel associated with the Marriott brand weve ever stayed at, and being Titanium members, weve stayed at many. The room was run down and dirty. The curtains were stained and disgusting to look at, let alone touch. The bedspread had a stain or makeup smear, the plaster was coming off around the air conditioning unit and the thermostat didnt work properly - the unit never turned off. The room hadnt been dusted, the battery on the clock radio was hanging out. The desk lamp cord hung over the front of the desk and the lampshade was crooked. We were awoken at 2 am the first morning by a chirping sound that took us 15 minutes to find/determine that someone had dropped their handheld radio under the desk and it was now emitting the low battery sound. The designated smoking section is right outside the front door which makes entering the lobby rather difficult if you want to avoid the smokers. The breakfast was without milk and orange juice. I could go on This hotel is truly a blemish to the Marriott brand name. The only bright spot was that the staff, especially the food service women, were very pleasant and friendly.

This hotel was not good the room we were assigned had what we could only assume to be black mold on the walls the bathroom had the same black spots and then they didnt even have hand soap to wash your hands with by far one the worst experiences Ive ever had staying at a Marriott hotel, now on a bright side if there is one I do have to give the staff a little bit of credit they did try to accommodate us by switching rooms but unfortunately while the room was a little bit better it still had some issues that we werent completely comfortable with to the point where we left the hotel and found another one. Maybe if they take the time to update some things I might reconsider staying but that wont be anytime soon

The whole staff was kind, from the front desk to the person that brought the breakfast out, to the ones I passed in the hallway. Decent choices for breakfast, eggs and sausage or waffles or oatmeal, all fresh. Decent coffee, I prefer mine jet fuel so a bit weak for me. Very clean rooms and pretty quiet for a hotel.

I have stayed at Marriott properties for years and always been very happy. I have been a titanium member for 7 years and never experienced unhelpful associates. But I have to say Elgin at the Fairfield Northlake property is not only rude but very unhelpful with a very simple request. When you call the front desk and ask fir assistance they should not say you need to call Marriott. I have NEVER had this happen. I can promise you we will never use this hotel again. Customer service is what every hotel should strive for but this has left a very nasty taste in my mouth!

The staff was helpful and pleasant, and the rooms were very clean. Breakfast was on point and may I add Charlotte was so helpful and very polite she made it such a pleasure to dine in for breakfast. I would definitely stay there again.
