Hyatt Place Charlotte/University Research Park

I would recommend another Hotel if you staying in Charlotte. The day staff was very helpful but they gave us an occupied room. We literally walked in on a guy and we all was confused! We still was cool about it but we went downstairs and changed the room out for a other one. Later that night I went downstairs to get some chips and drinks and I slid my card for the purchase and later that night my credit card was charged 150 plus for that purchase. The kicker was I didn't use my card for the room because it was purchased by someone else. The guy who worked the desk that night had a immature and terrible attitude and didn't want to be there and I kinda figured he didn't know what he was doing with the purchase of my snacks. Long story short don't stay here if you in the area. Nice hotel but the Staff is young and very unprofessional. Never paid 150 dollars for snacks in any hotel. I'm still waiting for an explanation and a refund. Even when I showed the desk attendant my credit card bill she was still in disbelief that her coworker done this. Very dissatisfied with this certain Hotel and Staff!!

Wonderful Hyatt place. This is the 4th Hyatt Place my family and I have stayed in and it's the best by far. Clean, modern, well- kept. The staff is friendly and the breakfast was standard, but easily accessible and the buffet was well tended. I would stay here again if I was visiting Charlotte. We had our family of 5 in a room with two queens and a pull out couch and it worked well for us.

The staff is pretty much friendly. No acknowledgement or perk of being a Hyatt Member. No complimentary water or snacks offered like others Im a member of. The first room we were in had hair left behind on the beds and in the bathroom. There was sticky residue on the table. The floor had not been vacuumed well. The staff was helpful and switched our room and second room was better, however; there was still hair left behind in the bathroom and on the floors as our socks picked it up. The bathroom sink couldve been cleaned more thoroughly, the shower floor had stains and the bath mat looked dirty. Not what I usually encounter at a Hyatt even though they welcome pets. More attention from housekeeping would help. The breakfast waffles tasted day old as they were dried out and crumbly. We were given the wrong time for breakfast so we got there at the tail end and mostly everything was gone and what wasnt gone was being removed. The location is close to other restaurants though, but if youre spending the extra dime for a hotel that has breakfast included, it should be fresh. But again, thats our fault for not getting the time correctly. Without the breakfast, the room wasnt worth the price. I do like the late checkout time they already have in place and check in is an hour earlier than most other hotels.

The room I stayed in was very nice and clean, thankfully. I was staying here while my new apartment said I could move in. So I originally made the reservation for 14 days, just in case I needed more time. By the 6th day I was good to move in but I stayed an extra night for work. On the 7th day, I went down to ask if I could check out early and be refunded for the nights I wouldn't be staying. The person at the desk said yes, no problem at all we can check you out and we'll refund you. I was surprised, so I went up got my things and checked out. Should have taken some form of proof that I checked out though. Because a week later I get the hotel bill and it's for the full amount and no mention anywhere that I checked out early. Confused, I call up the hotel to speak to someone and explain what happened. I speak to the GM and they explain that the person at the desk did not process my check out. So in the system I stayed all 14 days. They apologized and said I would see a refund in 7-10 business days. I waited 4 weeks. Nothing. So I sent an email. Waited another week. Nothing. So, in conclusion I'm down about 700 bucks, and waiting for a refund that may not show up. But hey, at least the rooms were nice! So just be careful, take pics, and if you check out early ask for documents or something to have that as proof.

Minimal parking, couldn't scan room key if you park in the back of hotel so had to walk around hotel to front door, no microwave in room. The breakfast was delicious and free. Staff was helpful and friendly. Nice rooms and in good location with lots of restaraunts around.
